Task it Tuesday - Dec 29

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

This is my last Task it Tuesday. I hope you have enjoyed following along as I did my best to balance my professional and personal lives. Sometimes I succeeded. Other times I failed. Either way, I am happy for the journey.

Here is what last week looked like:

  • Market new edition of A Christmas Kindness--Ongoing
  • Send out family and friends holiday cards--Nope
  • Blog at Christian Children's Authors and 4RV Reading, Writing, & Art News--Done

  • Bake something special--Cinnamon rolls
  • Wrap remaining gifts--Done
  • Play a board game with the kids--Not yet
  • Read, write, or both--I read some

For my last to-do list of 2020, I am making a few changes that may take multiple weeks.
  • Daily Bible reading at 7 am
  • Walking five days
  • Reconsider author website and add an editing page
  • Update my Sphere of Influence mailing list
  • Design a new real estate logo
  • Research new publisher for my GAP books

I am sure I will think of more as I set my goals for 2021 (not that they aren't brewing in my head already), but this is a good start.

Thanks for your loyal readership. I hope you will check out my other blogs.

How quickly the year is passing. It has been quite a year. I hope you have been able to count some blessings along the way. My hope is after tomorrow, I will be taking a few days off to spend time with my kids. Welcome to the first Tuesday of November and election day if you live in the United States. I will be taking my daughter out to vote for the first time. This has been one of the most divisive races in my life. I will be glad to see it over; though I doubt we will know the winner for days.

I've begun thinking of my business plan for 2021 and what I want my goals to look like. Because of some things that came up unexpectedly, I need to focus on what I can realistically accomplish next year.

This is what I am looking to accomplish this week:

Task it Tuesday - Sep 1

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Welcome to September. It's hard to believe how quickly time flies. I didn't post a Task it Tuesday last week, but basically it was a week of meetings, errands, cooking, book reviews, and trying to catch a wink or two.

Most of the fall garden is coming in nicely. I cut back the tomato plants, the grape vine, and the blackberry bush. I am trying to decide if I will keep the vegetable garden next year or plant grass over it. A large part of me wants to be more self-sufficient--especially with the prices of fresh fruits and vegetables. A tiny part of me realizes I don't have time to turn the garden into what I want in order to make a substantial difference. With my half-hearted efforts, I don't even get a harvest large enough to can. I'm almost better off buying fruits and vegetables in the grocery store and canning those. It would take less effort. :)

As I mentioned yesterday, the Lil' Princess started school. So, I'm feeling like I need to be more productive than I have been lately. One thing I decided--I am ditching the planner. I know so many productive people use them, but they really are not for me. I have my calendar, and I am going to stick with that for the rest of the year. Going to a digital calendar is what I want to focus on.

Here is what I want to accomplish this week:
  • Daily Bible reading
  • Five meetings
  • Start reading Morning Star
  • Finish reading Out of No Way for a September 9 review
  • Start fall cleaning on Saturday
  • Change outdoor decorations Sunday
  • Look into getting a small dumpster
  • Follow up with architect on house design
  • Pray daily about a big decision
That's pretty much what my week looks like. I'm still figuring out how to get back into the fall schedule of school drop off and pick up, but by the next week or so that should be settled.

What is on your task list this week? Do you write a weekly task list? What is one thing on your list that never seems to get done?

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

I didn't feel like putting together a list this week. My head is pounding. My schedule is crazy. The ringing in my ears has gotten worse and is affecting my sleep. Still, it must be done. Focus is important to productivity.

Here is what last week's list looked like and the progress I made.

Task it Tuesday - Aug 11

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

It is not only Tuesday. It is also the Lil' Diva's 19th birthday. How did this...

turn into this...

so quickly? I swear, we just brought her home.

That photo is from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, which is where I wish I was right about now. Instead, I'll focus on my to-do list.

I made some progress on last week's list:
  • Daily Bible reading--DONE
  • Update planner--a week behind
  • Two meetings--DONE
  • Walk three days--DONE
  • Complete Strong from the Heart by Jon Land for August review--DONE
  • Continue cleaning bonus room--Nope
  • Finish next chapter of The Sisterhood--about halfway there
  • Send out seller's packets--partially done
This week my work schedule is fuller than it has been. The pandemic is giving me a chance to catch up on some outdoor work, since I'm not comfortable going out as much as I was before. I'm still working, but want to be respectful of everyone's concerns too.

Our weekly Bible study is helping me feel more connected than I have been. I am also prospecting more for business, than I was in the last few weeks. I just don't feel like going to the office since I'm really tired of the whole mask thing. It's necessary, I know, but if I can work mostly from home and not wear a mask, why would I go to the office?

Here is what this week's list looks like:

  • Daily Bible reading
  • Update planner (probably not)
  • Six meetings
  • Walk three days
  • Prospect three days
  • Read Five Minutes, Mr. Byner due for review this month
  • Continue cleaning bonus room (not likely)
  • Finish next chapter of The Sisterhood

Here's a little inspiration to help you and me with our to-do lists.

Task it Tuesday - Aug 4

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Somehow it is Tuesday again. The days just seem to blend one into the other lately. I've been unmotivated and a bit grumpy. When I get like this, I hide in my office and waste too much time browsing the Internet. I've even struggled with completing the next chapter of The Sisterhood.

This was last week's list:

  • Daily Bible reading--5 out of 7 days
  • Update planner--didn't touch it
  • Weed garden--DONE
  • One meeting--DONE
  • Visit with my sister from out of state--we had a great time
  • Walk three days--I made my goal of 5,000 steps on Tuesday, but fell shy the rest of the week
  • Complete Strong from the Heart by Jon Land for August review--not yet, but reading it
  • Continue cleaning bonus room--worked on prospecting instead
  • Write next chapter of The Sisterhood--didn't get past the fourth paragraph

Here is what this week looks like:

  • Daily Bible reading--so far so good
  • Update planner--probably
  • Two meetings
  • Walk three days
  • Complete Strong from the Heart by Jon Land for August review
  • Continue cleaning bonus room
  • Finish next chapter of The Sisterhood
  • Send out seller's packets
Today, I didn't do as much as I should have, but I am looking to be more productive tomorrow. I need to get back on track.

What does your to-do list look like? Do you need some motivation? Do you like inspirational quotes?

Task it Tuesday - July 21

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Welcome back to Tuesday. I have to admit to feeling unproductive this week. I have tasks, but don't feel like tackling them. When I feel this way, I take a walk to clear my head or force myself to plod through. I took a short walk this morning and also watered the garden. This afternoon, I hope to go back into the garden for a bit to keep the weeds from growing too quickly.

Let's look at last week's list to see what I accomplished.
  • Meal planning - DONE
  • Daily Bible reading - DONE
  • Update planner  - DONE
  • Walk three days this week - DONE
  • Book review due Wednesday - DONE
  • Empty pantry Tuesday night or Wednesday morning - DONE
  • Added - Clean upstairs bathroom - DONE
  • Added - Clean bonus room - Started
So, last week was probably the most productive week I've had in a while. I'm thrilled.

  • Three doctor's appointments

Looks like my week is full. What does your week look like? Anything specific you need to accomplish?

Task it Tuesday - July 13

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Well, it has been a few weeks since I posted a Task it Tuesday. I don't keep a task list when I'm on vacation. That kind of defeats the purpose of vacation.

Let's face it---2020 has been kind of a bust. I had a stellar year planned in many ways. Then the pandemic hit; we lost my father-in-law; and, as much as we love each other, spending every day at home together isn't all it's cracked up to be. The vacation helped us a great deal. Now, I am ready to get back on track.

Here is this week's list:

  • Meal planning - DONE
  • Daily Bible reading - Started a new week-long plan
  • Update planner  - on track
  • Walk three days this week
  • Book review due Wednesday
  • Empty pantry Tuesday night or Wednesday morning - new doors and frame being installed
That's it for this week. Not sure if I will accomplish everything, but I need to stay focused.

What's on your to-do list this week?

Book Spotlight: Taming Your To-Do List by Glynnis Whitwer

No matter how much we accomplish in a day, we nearly always feel a little guilt over what we didn't do. Taming Your To-Do List exposes a seismic shift in society: from one in which most of us were proactive to one in which we carry the burden of having to respond--to every email, text, tweet, and message we receive. This creates a cycle where everyone else sets the priorities for our days rather than us directing our own lives. The result? We procrastinate, putting off the important stuff for later while we tend to the "urgent" stuff right now. It's time to take back your schedule! Ready to tame your to-do list? This book shows you how.

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

I always try to have a light schedule right before we go away. Each year, my somewhat easy calendar gets filled with unexpected items that leave me scrambling. As such, I am not putting together a substantial task list for this week. I am going to concentrate on my sanity and making the week before we head out as stress-free as possible.

Here are a few things I would like to accomplish:

  • Finish packing by Thursday
  • Read a Bible verse each day
  • Vacuum
  • Check to make sure the cats have enough supplies so the pet sitter doesn't need to worry about anything
  • Take a deep breath before I open my mouth
Here's hoping you enjoy the rest of your week.

I have a busy day planned, but the rest of the week should be better. I am thinking I will never be a planner person. Last time I looked at it was mid-May. Such is the life of a panster. I don't outline before I write at all.

Here is my list for the week
  1. Bible reading
  2. Meetings Tuesday and Friday
  3. Meal planning (done)
  4. Editing more of The Sisterhood
  5. Clean bonus room (probably not this week, but needs to stay on the list)
  6. Prospecting
  7. Catch up on planner (maybe)
  8. Take Saturday and Sunday off

What does your list look like this week? What is one thing you've been putting off that you want to accomplish this week?

This week is quickly going to hell in a hand basket. I'm trying to stay positive. If I don't get a chance to clean the bonus room soon, I might smack my head against the wall. Well, not really. My hard head might break it. :)

Here is my list for the week
  1. Bible reading
  2. Meetings Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  3. Cooking
  4. Editing more of The Sisterhood
  5. Clean bonus room
  6. Prospecting
  7. Vet for Giggle and Boots
  8. Home inspection Thursday
  9. Take this weekend off!!!!

What does your list look like this week? Have you accomplished a lot lately or do you feel like you're carrying over the same tasks week to week?

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

After a busy weekend, I'm looking forward to Thursday when I can concentrate on some editing of The Sisterhood. I finished taking photos of the crafts we needed to complete for additional material in A Christmas Kindness. I'm not sure if the publisher's plan is still to release it this fall. COVID-19 has changed so many things that I didn't want to ask. I'll find out once I send the photos.

Here is my list for the week
  1. Bible reading
  2. Meetings Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
  3. Cooking
  4. Editing The Sisterhood
  5. Clean bonus room (This really isn't happening this week, but I want to keep it on the list.)
  6. Prospecting

Did you have a  nice weekend? What's on your list to accomplish this week?

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Lately I am goofing off more than accomplishing anything. Today is my day to get a few things done. I need to get the crafts photographed for one of my books so the publisher can proceed with it. I have a busy two days of meetings on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will be an easier day.

Here is this week's list:
  1. Bible reading
  2. Meetings
  3. Continue closing out my father-in-law's affairs (almost done)
  4. Cooking
  5. Re-organize The Sisterhood ( one of my works in progress) to figure out what to do with it
  6. Clean bonus room
  7. Crafts

Did you create a to-do list this week? What does it look like?

Task it Tuesday - May 5

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

This week's list looks similar to last week's. I didn't get to my planner, but I really need to do it. If I can make it through one year, I can stick to a planner every year, which is my goal. I'm not reading my Bible as much as I should either. My concentration for reading anything of substance is low right now. I do, however, make a point to read a verse or two each day.

The oven stopped working Sunday, so that has made suppertime more challenging. Thankfully, it has warmed up here (though we are expecting a teeny bit of snow on Saturday) so I can use the grill.

I've got some cute children's books to review for Friday at The Children's and Teens' Book Connection. I am also reading the next book in the Daughters of the Mayflower series.

Here are my to-do items:
  1. Update my planner (need to get back to this)
  2. Bible reading
  3. Meetings
  4. Book reviews
  5. Continue closing out my father-in-law's affairs (this might take a while)
  6. Cooking (good thing I love it)
  7. Order craft supplies (new content for A Christmas Kindness has crafts that I need to photograph)
  8. Prepare for Friday's closing
  9. Clean bonus room
How are you doing on your to-do list? Do you have a productive week planned?

Task it Tuesday - Apr 28

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Yesterday was a productive day. Despite two online meetings and an unexpected trip to pick up a kit to help me get these half-falling-off genre nails fully removed, I posted to three blogs and cleaned up my lead generation software program a bit.

I'm really liking online grocery shopping. Yes, it costs me $3.99 per delivery and a tip for the driver, but no more dealing with crowds is great. Amazon pantry is a bit slower getting things to me, but if I plan right it doesn't matter when I order those supplemental items. I scored some toilet paper yesterday, but still no flour. We are being careful with how much we use.

Here is what is on tap for the rest of the week:

  1. Update my planner
  2. Bible reading
  3. Meetings (ugh)
  4. Book review
  5. Stamp postcards for newest mailing
  6. Start digging into closing out my father-in-law's affairs (this might take a while)
  7. Cooking (good thing I love it)
  8. Maybe, a bit of writing
What does your to-do list look like this week? Anything I can do to help support you?
