Task it Tuesday - Nov 24

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Well, Thanksgiving week is here. The Christmas tree has been pulled out of the basement. I vainly am attempting to get the house in order despite a work schedule that seems to fill my days. I keep trying to take days off, but it's not happening. As of this morning, I've added four client meetings to my schedule. Here is what I need to accomplish this week
  • Daily Bible reading
  • Walking five days
  • Meetings Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Blog Wednesday
  • Cleaning Wednesday
  • Cooking Thursday
  • Review Around the World in More Than 80 Days on Friday
  • Come up with marketing plan for the new edition of A Christmas Kindness--since the book is now out, I'm a bit late on this one
  • Mail out a copy of A Christmas Kindness
  • Look into a new publisher for my GAP books--moving to January 2021
  • Look into getting a small dumpster--moving to January 2021
  • Prepare for new listing
  • Put up Christmas decorations Saturday
  • Take Sunday off
I am probably forgetting something, but let's see how it goes. What is one thing you want to get done this week?

Mailbox Monday - June 1

Mailbox Monday is a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued. Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday blog.

Welcome to June! I switched to my mailbox in the sand because it makes me think of the lazy days of summer that will soon be upon us.

Last week was a blur--meetings, a hair cut (finally), writing/editing, a training call, a new listing and house showings. I might be able to snag Friday off this week, but we will see how that goes.

Nothing in my mailbox this week, but I did pre-order this one on marketing.

I met Alexa because she coordinates the Women in Publishing Summit. I have attended the last two years. Even though I've already published four books and have another one on the way in the next year or so, I like to read what the most up to date marketing resources and tips are.

That's it from me this week. I hope you had a mailbox full of goodies for me to check out as I make my journey around the blogosphere today.

Task It Tuesday - Aug 6

Originally created by The Geeky Blogger, Task It Tuesday is a weekly meme to help you--and me--get things done. The challenge is to post a task or list of tasks you want to complete before next Tuesday. These tasks can help you with your blogging life, reading life, personal or professional life.

Guess what? I'm cheating. It's late Thursday night and I am posting this as if it were Tuesday. LOL! Where does the time go lately?
Here is what my week looks like:
  • Read Bible daily - I'm still behind, but I'm still reading. Printed off my list of chapters to read so I can have it with me wherever I go.
  • Edit three chapters - Two done and working on the last one. Only five more to go!!!
  • Exercise - Two days down and hope to get a little exercise in on Friday
  • Prepare Book Promotion Workshop - this will probably move to next week, but I volunteered to hold a workshop on promoting your book for our local library
  • Clean the bonus room - This is slowly becoming the junk room. I won't finish this week, but I need to get started.
How is your to-do list looking this week?

The Importance of Promoting Your Book--Interview with Cheryl Malandrinos & Giveaway from Linda Weaver Clarke

Imagine my surprise when I received an email this morning from my friend, Linda Weaver Clarke, who asked me to post about an international giveaway she is running at her blog, along with a short interview with little ole me.

"Linda teaches a workshop that helps others to put their family history into a variety of interesting stories."

You can find out more about Linda's Family Legacy workshops by visiting her website.

In coordination with our interview on "The Importance of Promoting Your Book", Linda is offering a copy of her Family Legacy Booklet, as a giveaway.

Learn the most important elements of writing. Do you need help getting started writing your family history, autobiography, or want to develop your writing skills? Discuss setup, characters, plot, the importance of conflict and emotion. The secret of holding a reader is using emotion; it’s the difference between a slow or a lively recounting of a story. Make your ancestors come alive on paper. Make your family legacy something your children will be proud of.

This booklet contains the same rules for fiction and non-fiction writing.

The Family Legacy Booklet giveaway runs from May 5th through May 15th. You can read our interview and find details on the giveaway by visiting Linda's blog.

You can meet Linda in person at the following locations:

May 2010

5th: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Workshop at Tucker Branch Library, 5234 La Vista Rd., Tucker, Georgia, Contact library at 770-270-8234

8th: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Workshop at Roswell Library, 115 Norcross Street, Roswell, Georgia. Contact library at 770-640-3075

My thanks goes out to Linda for hosting me today.
