Movie Review: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012)

Alex, Melman, Gloria and Marty are aching to return to their home in Central Park Zoo. They seek out the penguins for help in getting back home. Unfortunately, after crashing a party, they capture the attention of Animal Control Captain Chantel DuBois (voiced by Frances McDormand) and need to lay low. When they stumble upon a traveling circus, they hope to hide out there and use it as a cover to gain safe passage to America.

If you enjoyed the first two Madagascar films, you are bound to love this one. Actors Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Chris Rock return to voice these fabulous and funny characters. This is one of those franchises that I can see never getting old. The antics are always outrageous, but the circumstances Alex and gang face always touch upon a part of all of us. In Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted it is the love of home.

When the animals stumble upon this traveling circus, they think it's an easy, quick solution to their problems. They soon discover the circus is failing and the circus animals are looking to Alex and the others to help them rejuvenate it in the hopes they will attract a promoter and make it the once fabulous circus it used to be. Vitaly (voiced by Bryan Cranston) is skeptical of these newcomers, but Gia (voiced by Jessica Chastain) and Stefano (voiced by Martin Short), truly believe Alex and his friends hold the key to their success. The monkeys, King Julien and Maurice are also back to keep things lively.

If movies weren't so expensive, I would go see Madagascar 3 again in a heartbeat. Filled with laughs and touching moments, the whole family will love it.
