Mailbox Monday - Sep 28

Mailbox Monday is a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued. Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday blog.

The end of September is here. We are now full swing into fall, my favorite time of year. This is the view outside my office window. I can't wait to go walking tonight.

This week turned out productive, but not as productive as the week prior. Real estate and editing kept me busy, I wrote a short story, and I baked some yummy treats--apple crisp, applesauce, and lemon blueberry bread.

The tart warmer is now filled with a crisp apple scent to keep me motivated. I have a week involving tons of tasks I need to get done.

Last week my physical mailbox remained empty, but I downloaded these to my Kindle. I must be in a mystery mood.

What was your week like? Anything you're looking forward to reading this week?

  1. Hi Cheryl,

Autumn is in full swing here in the UK too and the leaves are falling quite quickly. The change in temperature has been very sudden and dramatic and as we were all quite spoilt during lockdown round one, being able to spend most of it outdoors, I'm not so sure that lockdown round two winter, is going to be quite so sustainable!

I'm not sure that I would read all of author Patti Larsen's books, as she has written quite a few paranormal mysteries which don't really appeal to me. However the new cozy series sound really good, so I shall be adding those to my list!

There are just so many new cozy mystery series around and a huge stable of new authors, that I really can't keep up with them all. I wonder what genre will come along next when all available storylines have been visited?

Thanks for sharing your virtual shelf and have a peaceful week :)

    Yvonne xx

    1. Great to see you here, Yvonne. I'm worried about the coming months as well. With us home most of the time, going outdoors helps keep us feeling sane.

I haven't read many paranormal mysteries and I've never read Larsen's books before, so I'll have to see what I think of this one.

I pray they never run out of new cozy mystery ideas.

Hope you have a nice week.

  5. We've even had some cooler weather, but I know it is just a lull before the humidity resumes here. We usually aren't cool until November for good here. I love the look of that bread! Yum.

    1. Serena, we are expecting some warmer weather again, too. Right around Halloween we cool down in earnest.
