Mailbox Monday - May 25

Mailbox Monday is a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued. Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. It now has a permanent home at the Mailbox Monday blog.

Happy Memorial Day! I am behind in getting things posted, but it was a hectic weekend.

My baby celebrated a birthday. Hard to believe he is 33.

I planted the garden.

I am learning a new diet because the Lil' Princess insists she wants to eat healthier.

Well, at least the furry residents of the house enjoyed some relaxation.

Being busy actually feels good. I'm out showing houses again--had an accepted offer from Saturday showings. I'm still ordering groceries online and having them delivered, but I go shopping for special occasions--like cupcakes for the birthday boy. I'm editing the first full length novel I ever completed. We are making plans to visit the Outer Banks like we do each summer.

Massachusetts is in Phase 2 of re-opening. Do you know what that means? I can get a haircut! I'm not sure when the last time is that I've been so excited about that.

My physical mailbox had a fun little surprise this week.

I also grabbed a couple of Kindle books.

That's it from my neck of the woods. Hope you have a great week.

  1. Hi Cheryl,

These past 10 weeks of lockdown have actually flown by really quickly and guess how many of the jobs that I had on my list too do when I had more time, have actually got done? :)

We are still in the first stage of lockdown release, with phase one and a half starting on June 1st and phase two on the 15th June.

Phase two is all non essential retail to open, however this does not include any beauty treatments or gyms, which will not be open until July 4th earliest - it is going to be a real 'shaggy dog' story in the hair department by then!!

Our estate agents are back working again trying to get the home buying market on the move, however I think the unemployment is going to be such a big issue for years to come, that I'm not sure how successful selling property is going to be!

I'm still not queueing up for food, relying on the home deliveries that are available. It will be interesting to see how retail in general is going to handle queues of people, while they operate a one in one out policy, when it is pouring with rain. So far during lockdown we haven't had a single drop of rain, which doesn't bode well for the summer, especially as the temperatures are way too high also.

I am not much of a cook, but I do love Mediterranean food, so your new book caught my eye and I hope that you get to make plenty of healthy eating options from it.

Have a great week and stay safe if you are out and about :)

    1. There is so much I planned to do that I didn't get to yet, Yvonne, so I hear you.

It's strange to watch the difference in how places approach re-opening.

The real estate market here is going strong. Every time I place an offer, I'm competing against multiple buyers. Inventory is down, which makes it challenging.

Hoping you get rain soon. I'm looking forward to the cookbook. I love cooking. Of course, being forced to do it because I can't eat out is a pain.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I am glad you are able to be out to your job again. And getting a haircut too. I was glad to get a haircut two weeks ago and this week the staff and I got to go for long overdue manis and pedis.
Happy BD to your son. I am still doing the shopping for our household which is a chore for me. Hubby was sweet to get my car fuel yesterday morning - my first fill-up in two months. Love my Prius!
I like your garden - wish I had that energy.
Nice surprise to get that S Collins book.
Hope you enjoy all of your reading, have a good week and stay safe!
